My Favorite Apps
There are 2 apps I want to tell you about that make a healthy lifestyle so much easier for me. I use both of these everyday and they both help keep me on track.
This app encourages you to eat 6 times a day (which falls in line with THM’s recommendation for a normal day) and you can set your meal time preferences. It will give you a reminder when it is time to eat. You simply snap a picture of it and you can make notes on each pic if you want. Here is a sample of one of my days:
You can share your meals to your social media accounts if you like and there are inspirational tips every day. This is a free app with premium options if you want to pay for them.
EDITED TO ADD A DISCLAIMER: While I love this app, I do not always love it’s “tips”. This app is big on the 80/20 rule of eating and spend a lot of time saying things like “You don’t always have to make good choices.” While there is a smidgen of truth there, I don’t like how often it is repeated. I can ignore the messages, but if they would be a discouragement to you, you may want to find another tracking app.
I personally love this app. Now, a word of warning. If you have a bitter relationship with your scale, or if seeing how your weight can fluctuate from day to day makes you want to eat a pint of ice cream, then please, don’t use this app everyday! You can still use it, but just use it once a week or once a month. That is the beauty of this app. You can use it as often or as little as you want and still have a log to look at. I personally like to use it almost everyday. I feel like it helps me learn the natural cycle of my body and how I respond to different things. Here are some of the features:

2. You have your main overview screen which gives you your current status, your final goal (you choose that by the way, it does not give one to you), your estimated time to get there and how much you’ve lost, plus more! I made up a Jane Doe account to show you:
3. There is a graph page that you can use to to see your progress at a glance. I really love this graph. You will never see a straight line down. Even when eating perfectly, but you will see consistent movement downward over time.
4. There is also a history page which allows you to see your progress in another way. From here you can also make changes if you have accidentally entered something wrong.
The settings tab is where you enter and manage all of your profile information and the help tab is for, well, help. 🙂 This is a free app.
